Shahid Beheshti University and Semmelweis University Strengthen Scientific Collaboration
Budapest, Hungary - In a significant step to advance scientific collaboration, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBUMS) and Semmelweis University have entered a new phase of partnership. A delegation led by Dr. Alireza Zali, Chancellor of SBUMS, visited Semmelweis University on September 19, 2024, to discuss expanding scientific and research cooperation. The meeting was attended by Professor Bela Merkely, Rector of Semmelweis University, and senior university officials from both institutions.
Dr. Zali expressed his appreciation for the visit, highlighting SBUMS' long history of excellence in education, research, and healthcare services. He emphasized the crucial role of international cooperation, particularly with esteemed European universities like Semmelweis.
Professor Merkely welcomed the Iranian delegation and provided an overview of Semmelweis University and its notable scientific achievements. Drawing upon the university's rich history, he underscored the importance of knowledge exchange and collaboration between the two institutions.
During the meeting, both sides explored a range of potential cooperation areas, including:
